Tabloid Sports
On Wednesday last week we did tabloid sports. We do tabloid sports to celebrate St Joseph's feast day. Some of the games that we played were Stuck in the Mud, Shark Attack, Cowboys and Indians and more. My favourite game was Four Corners. Four Corners is a game where there are four chairs and each chair has a card symbol on it. The caller pulls a random card out and if it says diamonds it means that everyone at the diamonds chair is out. I also like the skipping rope obstacle course. I had so much fun at tabloid sports this year!
My Poem
Last week we started making poems to send to a different school in New Zealand. Everyone chose an object to base our poems on. All of the objects were miniature. Some of the items we could choose from were a rock, a teddy bear, a gem and a ship in a bottle. I chose the rock. Here is my poem.

Shine Week- Light it Orange
Today is Shine Week- light it orange. Shine Week is the week we raise money for those in families with domestic violence. Domestic violence doesn't always have to be physical, it can be anything that hurts someone by words or physically. We wear orange on Friday. We wear orange on Friday to support the victims of violence in family homes. These are some photos of our orange costumes/ clothes.
Our Reading Plays
In reading we have started doing plays. My group did a play about a car ride. In the car ride they are supposed to go to mini golf but ended up going to a plant barn! I love doing plays so I hope we continue doing it throughout the year. Here's a few photos.
Shrove Tuesday
Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday so we made pancakes with the juniors. We make pancakes because in Jesus' time before lent they used to give up ingredients like flour, eggs and milk so that they wouldn't rot over the 40 days of lent. In the morning we had the burning of the palms. The reason why we burn the palms is so on ash Wednesday the ashes get put in a cross on our head. When we made the batter it was very lumpy and creamy and gooey but in the end the pancakes tasted great! Here are some photos of the pancakes.

My Mantra
Last week we started making mantras. A mantra is an inspiring quote. Here is that mantra I made.
When you feel like
QUITTING
Think about why you
STARTED
I chose this quote because it inspires me and motivates me to finish something that I started.
My Pepeha
Last week we all made our own Pepeha. A Pepeha is Maori and it is about you. It tells you what your mountain is, what your sea or river is and it also tells you your parents names and your name as well. Here is my Pepeha.
